Crossover Fanfic #7

Here's the seventh installment of, you guessed it, the beloved Fanfic. Let's get 7 comments guys! We can do it! That day had been stressful. After I suggested that someone was after JJ’s dolphins, JJ flipped out. His office looked like a bomb had went off in it and he ended up closing the park early to “investigate”, which basically meant putting police caution tape over any of the areas Summer’s kidnapper had gone.  Seeing as I was in the middle of all of this, my mom had taken the day off to ensure I was safe and to help keep JJ from having a heart attack. We were both exhausted and it didn’t help that at one in the morning, I heard the loudest alarm I’d ever heard. I was sure my hearing was destroyed right then and there. My eyes sprung open and after I’d determined that it wasn’t a wild animal from the woods our trailer was three feet next to, I snuck out of bed before my mom stopped me. It was common knowledge my mom had better hearing than most humans, if not o

(Repost) Food For thought SG Fans: Why do you want to know more about Stuart Gibbs books?

This is to all Stuart Gibbs fans (or any fans of books in general, but I've been seeing this mainly on Stuart Gibb's blog&website). My question to you is: Why  do  you want to know more about upcoming books? Now I will admit, sometimes I get giddy asking questions about Big Game, Spaced Out, and even Spy School #4, but I want to know exactly why you want to know more about his upcoming books. I'm reposting this sort of as a PSA and I suppose as we get near SS#4 toward the end of summer I might repost this again. If you go to stuartgibbs.com and look at the blog,  there are hundreds of comments. And they're along the lines like "Is SPYDER/Erica/Zoe/Chip/Ashley/Nefarious going to be there?" or "Do Ben and Erica finally go out/ Ben gets that hug from Erica?". There are SO many questions that are pretty much huge spoilers. If you don't want your friend to spoil a book, why would you want the author? "Because I want to know info before eve

Crossover FanFic Friday #6: Ben got kidnapped remember?

The next installment of FanFic friday is here! Again, I've raised the early-Tuesday-access comment level to seven! Let's beat it! To some people, being held by an attacker in the middle of the night would be a huge scare. They’d flip out, grab whatever object they could find and swing it at the invader to get them out. But I’d already been through that…twice so I knew that either I was better off keeping calm or it was Erica. Thank the lords it was the latter of which. Her lilac and gunpowder scent, now faded, still told my brain it was the one spy you could ever trust in the world. As always she did her whole “keep calm and I won’t hurt you” spiel before she un-scissored he legs and let me free. “What are we doing?” I whispered, as to not wake my fellow roommates. “What do you think we’re doing?” she hissed. “I am not waiting all night only for these morons to screw tomorrow up. C’mon we’re leaving” Who knows why she considered me not a moron considering she was

Tirade (Thursday) #4: What is the deal with SPYDER?!?

Ok, so this is probably a topic that's been bothering me for about three years, ever since I picked up Spy School  way back when. There's got to be something wrong with SPYDER right? I mean, they've lost every time to the CIA, which according to CIA members (Spy School kids), claim the CIA is as useful as a wet tissue or whatever (I think they referred to Alex Hale? But you get the point) Like for example, in Spy Camp the reason they didn't launch those missiles is because Ben kicks apart a switch connecting the power to the main launch center. Does SPYDER not plan for this? I mean, if you're gonna shell out money on missiles, can you not make the control panel power on its own, or have multiple fail safes? Because really, it didn't even have to be Ben, any useless employee could simply trip on it. Oh yeah and then there's the part where Ben gets Nefarious to move those missiles away from the bridges by simply talking to him. Wha..what?!? Ok, so you inve

Crossover Fanfic (Sunday) #5!- I'm late. Deal With it.

So sorry I was two days late. I had to go down to San Antonio for this academic meet and forgot to post before I left. So here you go. 5 comments before Tuesday people. You got this! Naturally, I tried to follow her with no avail. The kidnappers had picked the perfect time: It was crazy busy and you couldn’t move a foot without bumping into someone. Everywhere there were tourists in packs just like the one that took Summer. So, with no other options, I called up JJ. “WHAT! WHERE ARE THOSE PUNKS WHO STOLE MY DAUGHTER” JJ was lit up when I returned to his office to tell him the horrid news. After a minute long rant he came to his senses and devised a plan. Or to be more literal, yelled into his walkie talkie. “I NEED PERIMETERS STACKHOUSE. FORGET THE SHOPLIFTERS AND THE ANIMALS. LINE THEM UP AROUND THE WALL. NOBODY GETS OUT!” “But sir what if the people throw things at the anim…” I heard Bubba Stackhouse reply. “I DON’T CARE” JJ yelled “I NEED TO FIND MY DAUGHTER” He

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Image
So my friends were dying to get me to read Red Queen, but I don't know, something in me was like "it's not worth it" but because she was going to be at NTTBF and Stuart Gibbs wasn't going to be there, I guess I wanted to check her out. Summary : So Red Queen takes place into a world where there are "Reds" and "Silvers" Red are kind of like the poorer side while Silvers are the richer and upper-class. The silvers also have special powers, such as they can heal people or control fire, or even control your mind. Right now they're at war and they force the reds to fight in it once they turn eighteen unless they have jobs. Mare's three older brothers have already been forced into conscription, which she herself doesn't want to at all, so she tries to avoid it. Mare tries to run away, which her friend Kilorn, also bound for conscription, doesn't want her too because the Silvers catch everyone. Then, she meets someone for the price o

Fanfic Tuesday #4: Somehow Ben also gets kidnapped like what?!?

Man you guys are good with getting five comments. Well, you guys earned it (try not to cringe by my really lame writing) here you go! “What a waste of time! Why would we even go here!” Cyrus was yelling at us for spending 3 hours at Sal’s Souvenirs and Stuff imposing as customers, deliverymen and even getting Erica in as an employee. But all we found were stocking stuffers, postcards, and lots of Alamo models. It turns out, this really was a coincidence. It was a family just trying to start up a business in time for the holiday rush. Alexander was getting the bulk of Cyrus’s rage. A lot of the things he said were of events years in the past. While Cyrus was giving Alexander and earful we started searching the San Antonio metroplex for any building recently opened. We blew up SPYDER’s gated community around 7 months ago so we plugged that information into the CIA database (our phones were at all times linked and logged in) and searched. We found…nothing. Other than Sal’s store th

Tirade Tuesday #4: To be (real) or not to be (real)

Well, it's that time of the week again. So, I've been noticing that in a lot of books the characters aren't "real". I know you're like "Duh its fiction" But what I mean is they don't act like real human beings, and to me it sucks because it would've ended a different way in the real world (if the real world had dragons, and zombies and was just blown up by nukes or whatever fantasy people read) Well that's what books are for right? To show you into alternative universes and such? Ugh, it's you again? Yes, now answer my question. Isn't that the point of books? To take you into un realistic worlds? Ok, this is the one argument that everyone says when I complain about this. And OK, I will submit to the fact that in books that are OUTRIGHT unreal (Like Red Queen and Glass Sword: Two of my new favorite books that I'll get signed at NTTBF and will post reviews on). But it's books like Spy School that, while so amazing an

North Texas Teen Book Festival: Probably one of the biggest book festivals in the South

Hello fellow readers! Do you live relatively near the DFW area and love books?!? If so, in two weeks make sure to free up your Saturday because NTTBF 16 is coming up! Probably the only thing better than seeing my favorite authors would be if I say a fan of my blog. If I did, I would literally flip (I also may or may not be carrying full copies of the FanFic so... just saying) My (tentative) panel schedule is looking like this: 8:15- Middle Grade Keynote. Last year I missed this and who knows what they talk about here. Also, I've heard a majority of the MG authors are here so if Victoria Aveyard shows up and I can get an early signature/pic, I would die. 9:00- School Days, School Dayz. Not only is it in one of the crazy ballrooms, but I've always had a taste for books about characters who are also in school (Especially a book called Spy School) Or I might just be with my friends. Who knows. 10:00- I plan on getting book speed dating at this time. If I don't get a wrist

Crossover Fanfic #3 ; Summer gets *gasp* kidnapped?!?

Hellow fellow reader. How has your Friday gone? Mine's been swell. Anyways, here's Teddy's side after Ben and his gang think SPYDER is located in town.  “You really think SPYDER’s there?” “It’s a long shot but what else do we have. We got to at least try it” She stopped by her shared room with Zoe, picked up her laptop and sprinted down the stairs. I picked up the local paper down at the lobby which was complimentary to guests and figured I could make the jammed interstate feel faster by skimming through the news. I hopped on the van and we headed out into the city. ------------------------------------------New stuff--------------------------------------------------------- Crowds of people at FunJungle weren’t a thing that never happened. Opening day, Henry’s death and funeral, Kazoo’s kidnapping and the recent elephant stampedes had all attracted enough people that FunJungle had to stop letting people in (but they’d still take their money for entrance tomo

CROSSOVER FANFIC: Pt. 2!!!

Well, you guys reached the 5 comment limit, so here you go (Some of it is an excerpt of what I gave you before to catch you up. I also threw in some extra stuff so it didn't end on a bad note) “What…is…this?” I’d seen a lot of crazy things recently- animals being murdered, kidnapped, encounters with said murderers and kidnappers and yet somehow this was the weirdest thing that had happened recently. A building being built within five miles of FunJungle. Sure it wasn’t illegal, but everyone knew this was JJ land thirty miles in every direction. You’ve probably heard of the zoo I live in- FunJungle- JJ’s pride and joy, when of course his animals weren’t being killed or stolen. JJ McCracken figured that, to make sure nobody tried to build a hotel anywhere near here that wasn’t his, he was going to buy up all the land until it basically turned into San Antonio. He bought up nearly 200 miles worth of land and proclaimed that nobody would ever build anything ear FunJungle and yet- he

Tirade Tuesday #3- How do people hate to READ?!?

Let's face it, we all know that one friend, regardless of age, that hates to read. It's been such a common item they're have been books on how to avoid reading (It may be all comical, but CJJ guide to not reading is actually sort of helpful) How do people hate reading, you ask? Well..... let's see they, Stop it Right There, I got this. Um, ok. Who are you? Dude you just gave my book a shout out. I'm Charlie Joe? World's biggest book-hater? Well, ok. The stage is yours. Ok, well Books are a waste of time. Who wants to read instead of, watch cat videos? There are so many people that are like this. They see that a book has like 250 pages and they're like "OMG IT"S GONNA TAKE FOREVER I'll just go Instagram, Snapchat, and then see some dude jump from a mountain on Youtube" But as we all know, books go by extremely fast. They may start slow, but if you persevere, you get into a REALLY good story and then it ends up flying by. Well

7k Views WHAT?!? Oh yeah, btw I'm still alive

HELLLOOOOO PEOPLE. Seven thousand view hype is real! Even though for months, I haven't posted jack, you guys viewed my blog a thousand times (Might I ask, why?!?) Anyways, with the year winding down, I'm gonna start posting more again. Anybody fancy a schedule? Well too bad, because we're starting slow now. On Tuesdays will be Tirade Tuesdays (Trust me I have a lot to rant about) Reviews will happen whenever (Plan on once a week) and Fridays will be the much beloved Fanfic Friday (featuring the Crossover Fanfic!) Speaking of the Crossover Fanfic, yes we reached 50 views. Why haven't you posted it?!? People everywhere are asking. Two reasons: 1) So I'm at the park where they meet (My favorite part right now is where Teddy is about to beat up Alexander for the war in the Congo he started which ran Teddy to FunJungle) and the Writer's Block wall has run into me. I'm waiting for inspiration, so it's not done. 2) What fun is it to just release it all at
