Tirade Tuesday #2: Cliffhangers- The only thing that's horrible about books

Ok forget what I said last week about the whole Q & A thing. For this rant, it's just going to be one paragraph of anger. Because I don't think there's anybody in the world that actually likes and enjoys cliffhangers. Anyways, share your anger with me, comment below and enjoy. Cliffhangers are the worst. I mean you're like "Oh my god, this is going to be the greatest" and then you start thinking "Huh, this book is getting short real quick" And then about ten minutes later "WHY AM I DONE WITH THE BOOK IVE WAITED A YEAR FOR" Usually if there's a romance that carries through the book, the author will tease you and put in a romantic scene but not have them date or if it's an action scene you'll be right at the major fight and then the hero gets hurt but he's all dead and the author is all like "Did you like it? Well be sure to get the next book in the (insert name) series coming next fall) and you're all like &quo

WOO! WE HIT 5k!

So I don't know if you've gotten the memo but on Saturday, we hit 5k viewers. When i started this thing, my main goal was to say "hey, this guy Stuart Gibbs inspired me to like books. Let me share my love of them with you" And boy has this snowballed into a big deal. Authors coming to me wanting to review books, I've made a bunch of online friends and some that are now really close to me. Jeez. I know everytime we hit a stretch goal, I'm all like"Thank you thank you thank you" but seriously, each one of you matter and I wouldn't be where I am without you. I think at some points I may start revealing some things I necessarily haven't been able to because either it'd illegal if I'd release it or it's just something weird. Anyways have a swawesome day and 10 k anybody?

FANFIC FRIDAY! WOO! ERICA FANFIC TEASER

Sadly we haven't hit 5k yet- so no, all you people who've signed up for email to get it early will not get it yet (but if you still want to sign up for the 5k party, then email me @ justindoan8@gmail.com to see it first. The public will get it the next friday.) Anyways. We did hit 4950 views so I decided to give out a little teaser. Enjoy! Spy School- Erica's Point of View Fanfic (the title) January 16 1650 hours Principal’s Office “Ok guys we got a new recruit. Benjamin “Ben” Ripley- 12 year old from some middle school. All right- don’t get yourself killed. Just try to scare the living daylights out of him. Positions!” The principal lectured us for it seemed like an hour. I hadn’t even wanted to be here- dealing with some newbie who’d probably be too scared to touch a gun let alone fire it- but my idiot dad dragged me into it, as well as the principal with his lie of giving me extra credit. I figured I could have some fun with the kid but I never knew we

Tirade Tuesday #1- What do people have against romance in books?!?

Woo! The first Tirade Tuesday. Today's main topic is- why do people don't like romance in books? *Gasp* Yes this is true! Some of my friends prefer to have their action in their books and nothing between the characters. (FYI, I will be adopting a Q&A style with these rants, mostly because you're not just reading paragraphs) Blech, Romance. Girls are just so blech. Cooties are nasty! Ok, I'm going to assume that the people who are reading my content have matured enough to accept the concept of another gender. If you haven't yet- grow up! If you're young, I guess it's fine. Just be you. Forget what I'm saying. But if you're in the 7th grade and you still think girls are aliens, grow up! Or else, and not to be mean, you won't have as happy of a life as you would've if you'd just accepted girls.  Ok ok fine. I guess thinking Girls are weird...is weird. But I feel like in a lot of books, there's such a strong romance and I d

Sad News & Um Even More Sad News

So I haven't posted for mainly one reason- like last year I decided to pursue writing (also because I'm really lazy- hey I'll admit it, school wasn't an issue this time). You know from Lunch Money, the Chunky Comics thing Greg makes- well I'm writing up one of those. It'll be pretty cool I guess. Also, requested by some viewers, I wrote a fanfic or Spy School (it's Erica's point of view throughout Spy School) Also I have a secret project that I may never release but whatever. The even sadder news is that yep, this is the update post where I say hey! only 3 posts a week now. Daily Posts, a thing of the past now- here is the final schedule. Tuesday's will be Top Ten Tuesday/Tirade Tuesday (that vocab though- basically a rant oh and I'm doing Top Ten over my How To series because it wasn't as big of a hit as my Top Ten series- it was real advice but I made it as sarcastic as I could, anyways) On these days I'll either drum up a top ten l

The Vanashing Frogs of Cascade Creek: The revolutionary book that's informative yet exciting

Image
Thanks to Emma J Homes, who graciously let me read all three of her books FOR FREE, I got to check out The Vanishing Frogs of Cascade Creek and a few others. At first, I honestly didn't like it. I saw it as- "A Textbook with a bit of action to disguise it". And it's true, this book has a lot of information but the action is plentiful and makes this book just as great as any other fiction novel you'd pull off the library shelf. Summary: Ruthie, Bel and Liam are sad. Why? Because they have to leave what they called home- a beautiful area lined with forsts, caves, and rivers, and go to some random creek supposedly in the middle of nowhere to find out what is happening to the waterfall frogs. They've been disappearing in abnormal numbers so it's up to animal experts Tom and Kate (Ruthie's dad) to solve the problem. They get there and everything is not that bad- the view isn't the worst, it's a bit of adventure to get to the creek (it's a good
