KPOP: 4/30/18 Wings (Outro) By BTS 💚

Image
SOOOOO BTS IS COMING TO MY HOMETOWN. Like seriously Bts comes to the US once every 80 million years and what are the odds they come to my town? Kinda crazy. All the fan girls in the army at my school are literally freaking out. this one girl was crying for an hour. Anyways, ticket drops are this saturday so i figure let's get my BTS on. Today's review is on Wings. So is it really a main song? It's meant to be the outro (hence it's in the name). But either way, it is a banger. it is a song with a lot of English, which in my opinion I like. There also is like a huge buildup into the chorus (like 2 minutes) so something to keep in mind. Overall this song just gets me super hype every time. The bass line is incredible and it's a really big motivational song. "Spread my wings and flyyyyyy" (yeah the song to text translation is not that good) but trust me the song gets me super hype. Not much else to say about the song. Again, I don't know Korean and I

MUSIC: 4/28/18 Famous by Mason Ramsey 💚

Thats right kids, we are attacking THE WALMART YODEL BOY'S FIRST SONGGGGGGG. Alright so I will start out by honestly saying that going into this, I completely thought it would just be another meme song or whatever. He'd do some yodels, get his 15 minutes of fame, and then it'd be dead for the rest of the year. But I was wrong, I actually really liked this song. Now, do keep in mind country isn't exactly my specialty, but compared to the few country songs I have listened to in my life, yeah, it was really good. The only thing I'd point out is that you know that country/southern accent all singers have? Well, mason kinda has it but he is from illinois, so it wasn't really there. And that really disappointed me, because this could have been a true banger if he went all country on us. As for the lyrics, they were pretty solid. I mean, it's about how he's gracious for being famous and all, but he'd rather be famous for loving this girl that he m

KPOP: 4/25/18 BBoom BBoom by MOMOLAND 💚

Image
YOOO back on the music grind (YouTube videos will return though). Anyways, wanted to quickly share my thoughts on BBoom BBoom by momoland. For starters, the chorus (and the song overall I guess) is really catchy. Obviously, the song is in Korean, but the lyrics itself, idk, they just stuck to me really well. I don't really listen to momoland too much, so I can't really comment on who I think sung the best in this song or whatever, but take my word it is a very catchy song. The dance itself is also pretty good. In my opinion not as good as Blackpink or red Velvet, but still verty solid for a girl group. Again, not a huge fan of Momoland so don't want to comment on who dances the best either. If I had one complaint, it would be the beginning beat. Now, I'm sure some Momoland fans will be extremelyyyy angry at me, but for a decent kpop fan, looking from the perspective of someone trying to find a new song, it just doesn't click me with me. It seems out of place

YOUTUBE: 4/24/18 Masterchef Emotional Moments

Image
On the YouTube grind for the rest of the week, mostly because I listen to the same like 30 songs on my one playlist and don't want to review them all in one month and then be screwed. Anyways, some more videos came into my recommended, these two about times when people on Masterchef got super emotional. The first video is about this guy who has been perfecting this cake for five years or something, and then when he finally gets to make it, he goes nuts. Watch it on  YouTube And then this second one is this blind chef who, despite never making a pie in her life, makes an apple pie that in Gordon's words "is absolutely phenomenal". Watch it on  YouTube

YOUTUBE: 4/23/18 Kid makes three straight shots from half court

Image
ahaha, another random video, again not much to say about it. Anyways, found this in my recommendation (might be my love for Dude Perfect? not sure). Honestly, the only reason I love this video is that the crowd recognizes game. I love the progression after the kid makes the first shot (a little cheering) to the second (people are kinda amazed) TO THE ENTIRE BUILDING GOING WILD AFTER THEY'VE JUST WITNESSED HISTORY. Like imagine making your third halfcourt shot and 20000 people go wild. Unbelievable, hats off to this kid. Anyways, enjoy the clip! Watch on  YouTube

YOUTUBE: 4/22/18 Walmart Yodel Boy Dance (remix)

Image
So uh, not much else to say about this video, not like I can review it or anything. Just something cool I clicked on i guess. By now, I hope most of you understand the Walmart Yodeling Boy meme (so I won't explain it), but anyways, rigggghhhhttttt before it becomes completely dead I want to post this. This video especially stood out to me, because it was really in synchronized, and it was cringy but like in a good way. Idk, it's hard to explain, but I like how a comment tries to describe it as "2018 summed up in one video". It's pretty accurate in my opinion, but you can be the judge of that. Watch on  YouTube

MUSIC: 4/20/18 No Grass Today by AJR 💚

Image
WOOOOOOOOOO 4/20 BLAZE IT UP!!!! (ahaha what is wrong with me. Seriously, drugs are not the way to go). Anyway, for some people, this may seem like the most important holiday in the year next to Christmas or whatever, so I feel like I have to post about it. And what better song to talk about than a song about not smoking grass (no serious). AJR is a highly underrated techno/edm group or whatever. I found out about them after they played on Jimmy Kimmel a few months ago, and ever since them I have been in love. Part of their most recent album is this song No Grass Today, and I absolutely love it. One of the main things I like is the chorus. IT IS SO CATCHY. Adam (I think) literally has the most soothing voice. Not like go to sleep soothing, but it isn't like arrogant or whatever, it's just laid back and amazing. And the lyric, while dumb, is actually kind of cool I guess. "I didn't smoke no grass today, but that's because I love to play, but who am I to take a

KPOP: 4/18/18 Rubber Band by IKON 💚

Image
OOf, I'll get back on the daily post grind, just been caught in a bit of a jam the past few days. Anyways, yeah, this is one of IKON's latest songs (I think?). I thought it was part of their comeback with Love Scenario, but I guess it's not.  First things first, I have to say it is SUPER catchy. There's this one part, maybe it's the bridge or something, but the background music is turned off and is replaced with clapping. HOLY HECK, I found myself singing that part all day today. Ooh and also, the whole "whoa ooh whoa oh ohhhh" near the beginning. Very nice touch. Also super catchy and amazing Also, overall this style of song really compliments their singing. Like, I don't know, you really have to listen to it to get what I mean, but their voice is so unique and is exploited with this song style. That said, there is this one annoying part they I kinda hate, around the two minute mark. Again, kind of hard to describe since I'm not so

MUSIC: 4/16/18 One Night by Mura Masa Ft. Charli XCX 💚

Image
Yuhhh I heard this song from a playlist on spotify and it has MADE it onto the Banger's playlist. It is a true bop. Mura Masa for those of you who don't know is essentially notorious from starting from no where and making it to the top. I think he got featured on some famous YouTube channel and now yeah he works with Desiigner and Charli XCX to make some true bops. Anyway, I suppose here's a quick review of it. I do love the unique beat I've never heard a pop song feature the freaking xylophone (or is it marimba? idk lol). But I found it super interesting. And probably my favorite part is that during the verses after the chorus after the beat drops, where the song has kind of calmed down, Musa integrates this harp EXTREMELY WELL. Ahhhh I melt everytime I hear the harp it is really good. Also, as for the use of Charli XCX...WOW. Yeah so I only knew of her when she was in Iggy Azalea's Fancy, but hearing hear int his song...Musa definitely made the right decisio

YOUTUBE: 4/11/18 Black People Hype Everything (videos)

Image
ahaha oof my bad for a late post, was feeling a bit lazy today. Anyway, as most YouTube video posts will go, this isn't really a review, just shedding late on some videos I found hilarious. Now, don't flame me in the comments for the title, I'm literally quoting the title from one of the videos, and honestly it fits these videos really well (in a funny way). Anyway, these two videos are about how people get hype for insanely no reason (well the second video is actually pretty cool, but the first one I just found hilarious when they got super hype over nothing) Soooooo, the first one this kid has this yoyo thing or whatever and for some reason a huge crowd showed up, and then... well just watch I guess (Link to  YouTube ) Second video has more of a legit reason to be hype. This guy tried to show up this white nerd in a  dance battle in front of everyone, but got completely destroyed. (Link to  YouTube )

MUSIC: 4/10/18 Better Days by Hedley 💚

Image
So here we are, I somehow stumbled across this amazing EDM/Pop Banger. Not sure why, but these songs seem to just stumble across a kid who happens to love any and all EDM/Pop. I think this songs deserves a lot more attention than it's getting. This song reminds me of many songs by the script. You know, like "Hall of Fame" or "Revolution" (Dude Perfect Fans). In other words, like powerful songs with a strong bass line and a motivating beat and lyrics. But basically, think of those songs, but instead of with guitars and in the rock genre, IT IS EDM/POP. Yeah, I really enjoyed the twist and the beat by Hedley here fit very well. The motivational lyrics also make this song I like to listen to when I'm feeling down. "Better Days, are not so far awayyyy ay ay ayyyyyyy" (typed out seems kind of weird, but trust me the lyric here is really cool). I dunno this song is a really good pick-me-up and the little bit post-chorus was really catchy and I really

YOUTUBE: 4/10/18 The Bathroom Serenade

Image
Okay so you have to love high schoolers. While adults may see them is unruly and probably think they party like 80 times a week, honestly they produce moments of brilliance, like this group of 5 guys did in like 2009. Basically concept of the video: every stand at the urinals or in the stalls, and as soon as one unsuspecting kid walked into the stall. Begin belting out the acapella hit "For the Longest Time" (get it? because he's in the bathroom? ahahahaaaaaaa juust me? alrighty then) I found the video EXTREMELY amusing, and it really brought about a smile to my day. Like we see all these pranks where people pretend to get murdered or kidnapped and I just think about this video how not only did it hurt anyone, it was so amusing even the victim found it hilarious. Also I do have to mention, don't know if it was the camera this was recorded with or is the singers are just super good but the audio quality is AMAZING. Like the acoustics of that high school bathroom

MUSIC/KPOP: 4/9/18 What is Love? by Twice 💚

Image
WHERE MY FELLOW ONCE('s) AT????? Whoooooo twice's new comeback song What is Love is currently number 5 trending on YouTube in the US (probably higher around the world??). I would definitely rank twice in my top 3 in my favorite kpop groups, and I was super excited to see this video. (Note: I think I'm going to be rating the music video along with the song,  I just think the music video deserves to be part of the rating) Anyway, the song is, well AMAZING. Twice of course is known for their more up beat songs (even TT, a song about crying (not literally obviously but the title is actually TT sooooo) is still upbeat and fun. And I think this is why most people love kpop. Sure, in the US, there are a lot of sappy slow love songs, but I love the fast tempo and upbeat songs Twice just continues to produce. My favorite part is (as it is in most songs) the chorus. This chorus popped out to be very unique for me. I melted when I heard the chorus, which to those who have yet

MUSIC: 4/8/18 Let You Down by NF 💚

Image
Soooo apparently this song was a big thing, because after like three minutes of research of looking in the comment section of the video, there was a lot of hype because the music video was trending at one point in its history. And honestly, I have to say it was definitely worth the hype. At first, I had know idea who the heck this NF rapper dude is. Turns out he is some sort of up and coming rapper and this song sorts brought him out? Not really sure. Point is I really loved this song. This is one of those EDM then rap songs where it goes back and forth between and electronic autotune and then it hits a rap. And these are the type of songs I look for. It's hard to explain, there just is a good vibe every time I listen to these. Like the electronic is the calm before the storm and is always super catchy, especially the main line "i'm sorry that I let you down" ooooooooffffff city gets me every time. Like, not even joking, I literally compared this song to the AMAZI

MUSIC: 4/7/18 The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey

Image
We've got a radio vibe songgggggg here. Pretty much unless it's a pretty good song, I'm really only going to be talking about radio songs, simple because enough people like the song for a radio jockey to play it for thousands of people, plus it's an easy way to stay up to date (so don't expect any old Katy Perry or Justin Bieber songs on here) Anyways, yeah, this song reminds me of an amazing summer (as do many radio songs do). It's about love or something, although these days 99 percent of pop songs are basically love songs. Going through the comment section, I'm actually kinda glad that everyone else agrees with me, I really though Alessia Cara did another song with Zedd, but nope turned out to be Maren Morris. Zedd songs seem to be the latest thing (I mean, I saw his 16 million dollar mansion video so he's gotta be doing something right). But I don't know, the beat here seemed a little bland, the vocals are really good though, again Alessia Ca

YOUTUBE: 4/7/18 Planet Fitness Memessssss

Image
So if this is the first post on my site you will be seeing, I'd like to say thanks for visiting but do mind that literally this will be like 80 percent of my content just random YouTube videos. Anyways, a couple of days ago, I stumbled upon the art of the Planet Fitness meme. Basically for those of you who don't know, Planet Fitness basically is a super cheap gym where those who aren't buff and don't want to feel intimidated but still want to get in shape go to work out. Essentially, they're known for their famous lunk alarm, which essentially is an alarm tornado-alert-esque (we sorta kinda have those living in the tornado alley, not sure if they're every in the US) that goes off every time someone drops a weight or grunt while they lift. To be honest, I don't really see the point of it. Literally it is probably more annoying than the occasional drop of a weight. Luckily, the internet comes to the rescue, making a huge meme out of it. I've go

KPOP- 4/6/18 Dope by BTS

Probably my favorite song to getting hype to in all of k-pop (that I have yet to discover). This song was released around 3 years ago in 2015 but it is still AMAZING. I especially love the pre-chorus (I think?) and I'd say THE English part ("I don't wanna say yes, I don't wanna say yes") Fits very well into the song. This is a very boy band esque song. After a quick look at the English captions on the music video (which by the way, would recommend you watching it is very artistically interesting), it seems like it's literally about telling new BTS fans that they're the best because they work all day and don't go clubbing (and I can't say that they're wrong). But honestly, even if you don't get the lyrics, still such a fantastic song to listen to. The quick beat and use of drums really gets me going. Definitely worth a listen. Listen on  Youtube  and  Spotify

KPOP: 4/5/18 DNA by BTS

Image
Oof it's been a year since I've gotten into K-Pop and I have to say, while you don't understand pretty much any of it, the songs are a true bop. I'm pretty sure the best example of K-Pop is DNA, which BTS has performed at the Billboard Music Awards, on talk shows, and is essentially the  song most Americans know. I would talk about the lyrics, but seeing as I don't understand most of them, I suppose I can talk about the beat, which is extremely  catchy. Like, if you ever watch the dance practice once, and then listen to the beat, the first notes just draw you into the amazing song. That and the quick kick drum beats right after the hook, ooooohhh it gets me everytime. Not sure how many like extreme fangirls and fanboys of these k-pop groups will visit my site, either way do not want to risk it, so I pretty much will refrain from mentioning the names of the people in the song as I tend to get confused (unless of course it is black pink) Anyways, yeah, it's

MUSIC: 4/5/18 Animal by Neon Trees

Image
Not sure where to start this music section so I just picked the first song out of my bangers playlist lol. Anyways, this is Animal by the Neon Trees. It is alternative rock and honestly such a good song to listen to just get hyped up. Like the opening riff and the "here we go again" is just such a good way to get me going. Also, one of my favorite moments with this song is that it took me 10 listens before I realized it was a love song. Which honestly works for many people because if you're not a fan of love songs, you never really notice it as the catchy beat sticks to you first; conversely if you like love songs it's not your normal sappy love song, which I love. The riffs in this song are super catchy and I'm not sure this will be the case for everyone but literally it takes me back to when I was a kid. As for the Neon Trees themselves, me personally I don't like the punk rock look or whatever, but obviously it will be someone else's cup of tea. Their

A New Era

Oof so that New Year's Resolutions didn't come through now did it? Hey all, got some big news to make. This is what happened to me in 7th grade, when I was losing the passion to blog about books. After a three month hiatus, I came back bigger and stronger, and had the greatest year of my life. Now however, business has declined and with that my love for books. I've spent the last three months thinking about the future for this website, and I've realized it isn't my passion for sharing my opinions, it is what I'm talking about. Sure, I'll still love books, but I want to branch out to all media, to shed light on my favorite music, a hot TV show, or let you know if that new movie is worth it or not. ...Introducting JustinTalksMedia! I basically talk about all things entertainment that i consume. Posts won't be thought out, it will kind be like "hey this is a song", a little bit about it, my thoughts and more. Just something spontaneous th
